The height of Bizkaigan

It is a mountain and it is situated in Errigoiti, Bizkaia. From there you can see all the places of Bizkaia, that is why it is famous. The elevation is 345 metres. At the top, there is a hermitage that was built in 1873.

Every year the villagers celebrate a party and organize a photography contest.

 

When the weather is good you can see a lot of places, for example, the Atlantic Ocean, Busturia, Durango, Gernika, Mungia and some more. Bizkaigane is surrounded by forest of pine, oak and eucalyptus.

WATERFALL

This waterfall is next to Torrebillela’s park. It is the river Butroi. Here there are views of the green land of my friend Gustavo. I like this place because there aren’t people and you can relax fishing or just being there. Near the waterfall  there are swings and a restaurant made of wood with very good food.

Mungia townhall

MUNGIA TOWNHALL

 

In this photo we can see a townhall os Mungia. This buelding is situated on the middle of the town and it has about one hundred years.

For people it is important because this building is very old, and it shows the art and culture of Mungia.

It is built in Neobasque style, like Baserris for example. People used to do meetins about the town and diferents aspects of Mungia; like partys, laws,…

Bizkaigane

 

 This is a hermitage situated at the top of the mountain Bizkaigane, Errigoiti. It is about 20 kilometres away from Mungia.

In the old times this building was built by the people of the village, near 1700. As we can see, there is a picture of the Basque Country which has engraved a symbol,  “Lauburu”, which has cultural meaning for Basque people.

This building has been used by people nearby to pray and nowadays is also used sometimes. It is also a symbol of Christianity.

Bidegorri

 BIDEGORRI

 

Bidegorri is a cycle path made on the old railway. It is situated near the river,  in the older and lower part of the town. It is an interesting place where you can see diferent types of trees and animals because near the road there are a lot of farms and lands. But Bidegorri has got a problem, it is next to a motorway; consequently in some parts of the path it´s possible to hear noise.
