This monument is commemorative to the Basque warriors from Bakio that fought in the Spanish civil war in 1936.
This is situated next to Bakio’s tourism and it has an inscription engraved “Izan zirelako gara eta garelako izango dira”: “we are because they were, they will be because we are”
