Bizkaigane
This is a hermitage situated at the top of the
mountain Bizkaigane, Errigoiti. It is about 20 kilometres away from Mungia.
In the old
times this building was built by the people of the village, near 1700. As we can
see, there is a picture of the Basque Country which has engraved a symbol, “Lauburu”, which has cultural meaning for
Basque people.
This
building has been used by people nearby to pray and nowadays is also used sometimes.
It is also a symbol of Christianity.
